Chevron Foil Pumpkin Decoupage Flop
/Not every single project of mine turns out perfectly and is deemed "Pinterest worthy" so I wanted to share a total decoupage flop.
I decided to do something other than paint this cute little pie pumpkin. I didn't have a ton of time for a lengthy project, so I thought decoupaging would be quick and painless.
I had this beautiful chevron foil and all the colors were perfect for fall so I went with what I had on hand.
I poked a hole in the middle of the paper to fit the stem through and then painted a layer of Mod Podge over the surface. All is good so far...
Except for all the wrinkles that I couldn't smooth out! Deep breath. I decided to try to camouflage the wrinkles with foil stickers. Well, you can see that didn't exactly yield the desired result. The stickers wouldn't cooperate and lay flat on the pumpkin.
Pumpkin-2; Me-0.
Although it's far from perfect, I wrapped some twine around the stem and called it a day.
Great in theory and I love the paper (wrinkles and all) but sometimes good enough is okay and I get to share a big, fat fail with you. Not my finest crafting moment but it gives me the chance to show you guys that I don't nail all of my projects.
Have you tried decoupaging a pumpkin and if so, how did it turn out? I'd love to hear!
