Several months ago, my son's teacher asked me to create something for the wall above her desk. It was a unique space because it was long (7 feet) and narrow (22 inches). She gave me total creative control so I took a few before pictures and waited for inspiration to strike.

I wanted the project to be both artistic and functional so after pondering ideas, I came up with creating a pallet wood background and then adding a few IKEA FINTORP rails and buckets for storage.

After a great experience working with Crates and Pallet on my Rustic Pallet Cooler, I reached out to see if they would be interested in partnering on another fun school project. They said yes and a few boxes of pallet wood showed up on my doorstep.

First, Triple Threat removed all the nails from each piece. Warning: this is not the fun part of the project but necessary so his Saw Stop wouldn't get messed up. Then he measured and cut out pieces for the length and width needed (7 feet by 22 inches).

Once all the pieces were cut, I chose the color palette of stain in Walnut, Briarsmoke, Weathered Gray and chalky paint in Coastal Blue. Using a patchwork method, I alternated colors.
