DIY Valentine's Day Soda Crate

If you're planning on hosting a Valentine's Day party, this DIY soda crate will help make your table LOVEly (couldn't resist) and festive.

I'm on the hospitality committee at my son's school and next week we are showering our staff with goodies for a Valentine Sweet Treat Week. We needed some cute and inexpensive decorations for the treat table and when I saw this wooden box at Michael's inspiration struck.

Using PicMonkey, I created this LOVE graphic to transfer onto the box.

Download and print this image for your soda crate.

Using transfer paper, I traced the letters onto the wooden box with pencil.

Some of the letters weren't perfect but it didn't matter since I would be covering the lines with paint anyway.

I used craft paint to fill in the letters.  My favorite part is the doily heart.  Once the paint was dry, I lightly sanded to smooth the edges and subtly distress the letters.

These adorable Love Potion #9 labels came from Lil Luna and you can find them here.

For Sweet Treat Week, I will fill the bottles with flowers and use as a centerpiece in the teacher lounge.  This crate is so versatile, I think you could use it year round.  Love isn't only for Valentine's Day, right?!
